For bookkeepers & accountants
Forty scans landed. None say whose they are.
Your clients' scanner calls everything scan0047.pdf, so you open every file just to learn who sent it. InOrder reads each scan on your Mac and files it under the right client, once you've OK'd the plan.

It's not just you
“click on each file and view the file, and then change the name”
“it absolutely drives me crazy when I get into files and I find documents named all willy nilly.”
“I don't want numbers input but simply taking an unsorted scanned PDF… and sorting it.”
Public posts about the problem, not reviews of InOrder.
The by-hand tax
A Tuesday morning, filed by hand.
None of it is hard. It's just open, read, find, drag, forty times, every time a client empties their scanner. And it never goes on an invoice.

The three things
every bookkeeper asks.
“What if it files a scan under the wrong client?”
It doesn't move anything until you've read the plan and said go. Scans it isn't sure about stay in Client Inbox. And every run sits in History with Undo.
Never deletes · never overwrites
“These are tax forms and IDs. Where do they go?”
Nowhere. InOrder reads each scan on this Mac. No account, no upload, no cloud model. Only updates and licence checks touch the network.
Client files stay on your Mac
“My folders are a mess of my own making.”
Good. It files into the client folders you already have, and keeps file names as they are. No new system to learn, no rules to write.

Questions
What bookkeepers ask next.
Does InOrder pull amounts into my accounting software?
No. InOrder files documents; it doesn't extract totals or tax. That's what tools like Dext and Hubdoc do. InOrder sorts the scans those tools never see.
Does it work with my scanner?
InOrder watches a folder, so it works with any scanner that saves to a folder on your Mac, including a ScanSnap, and with files clients send by email or portal.
Which Mac do I need?
Reading scans needs macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence. Unpacking portal ZIPs doesn't read file contents.
Does it rename scans?
Not yet. Today it files scans under the right client and keeps their names. Naming from the issuer, date and invoice number is planned.
Thursday's forty scans
can file themselves.
